Letter from the editor:
When I think of autumn, I drift to a place of adventure and expectancy. When I reflect on winter, I am filled with love and tradition. When I muse over spring, I feel the nurturing effects of new life and new hopes.
It is when I ponder summer, however, that my heart is overcome with the child-like sense of freedom. I break out from the shell of coats, and I fly away from my perch in my university dorm room. I am free. I am free to dance in caressing daylight. I'm free to float in the ocean and waltz through fireflies after late sunsets.
It is in summer that I am free to connect with relationships that may need more attention. I am free to reflect on the spirit of the woman I am inside. I am free to travel the world and encounter new cultures. I am free to do the little things that bring others joy, and, in turn, my joy -- those little things I wish I was the woman to do all year round.
In this issue you will find joy-filled themes of gentleness, peacefulness, and restoration. Now halfway through the year, summer's air warms our hearts as we look within and then reach out to the world around us.
Let us lift our faces to the sun and boldly lead the way as women of royalty, honor, and confident humility. This, in summer, is how our beauty blossoms perennially.
